Privacy Policy

Last Updated: July 2026

Introduction

First Year Foundations ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website and purchase our products.

First Year Foundations is a legal entity situated in Israel. Because we offer our guides to parents internationally, this policy is written to meet the requirements of the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as Israeli data-protection law. Where the GDPR applies to you (for example, if you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom), the rights described in the "Your Rights" section below apply to you.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you:

  • Purchase a guide: Name, email address, and payment information (processed securely by Whop)
  • Sign up for our free guide: Name and email address (collected through MailerLite)
  • Contact us: Any information you include in emails or messages to hello@first-year-foundations.com

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We only collect the information necessary to deliver our products and communicate with you about your purchase.

Automatic Information

If you consent to analytics cookies (see "Cookies and Consent" below), we collect certain information through Google Analytics, including:

  • Device type and browser information
  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • Traffic source (how you found us)
  • General location information (country/region level)
  • A randomly generated identifier and your IP address, which Google processes on our behalf

This information helps us understand how visitors use our website and improve our content. We use it only in aggregate and do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it. Under the GDPR, information such as an IP address or a cookie identifier can qualify as personal data, so we only collect it after you have given consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.

Cookies and Consent

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device. Our website uses cookies in two categories:

  • Strictly necessary – required for the site to function and to remember your cookie choice. These do not require consent.
  • Analytics (optional) – set by Google Analytics to measure how the site is used. These are only loaded after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you choose "Reject," no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is never loaded.

The main analytics cookies are Google's _ga and _ga_<id> cookies, which typically expire after up to two years. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website, which will make the consent banner appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver your purchased guides and send download links
  • Send confirmation and receipt emails for your purchase
  • Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
  • Send educational email content about baby development (if you opt in)
  • Send information about new guides and offerings (if you opt in)
  • Analyze website usage to improve our site and content
  • Comply with legal obligations

Email Communication

When you purchase a guide or sign up for our free guide, you'll receive emails from First Year Foundations (via MailerLite) with educational content and information about our guides. You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any email we send you, or by contacting us at hello@first-year-foundations.com.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate our business:

Whop (Payment Processing) – Processes purchases securely. Your payment information is handled by Whop and subject to their privacy policy.

MailerLite (Email Marketing) – Manages our email subscriber list and sends educational emails. When you sign up for our free guide or marketing emails, your information is stored securely with MailerLite.

Google Analytics – Tracks website usage and visitor behavior to help us improve our site. Google Analytics does not identify individual users.

GitHub Pages (Website Hosting) – Hosts our website. Basic server logs may be collected but are not personally identifiable.

These third-party services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data:

  • Contract – to deliver a guide you have purchased and provide related support.
  • Consent – to send you marketing emails, to deliver the free guide, and to set analytics cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests – to operate, secure, and improve our website, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation – to comply with tax, accounting, and other legal requirements.

International Data Transfers

We use service providers (including Google, Whop, MailerLite, and GitHub) that may store or process your data on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our providers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. You can review each provider's privacy documentation for details.

Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your data.
  • Purchase records: for as long as required to provide support and to meet legal and accounting obligations.
  • Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics according to our configured retention period, after which it is aggregated or deleted.

Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously. Payment information is processed securely through Whop with industry-standard encryption. Email information is stored securely with MailerLite. However, no method of data transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We do our best to protect your information, but we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, and in particular if the GDPR applies to you, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Erase your information ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal requirements
  • Restrict or object to our processing of your information
  • Data portability – receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, including for marketing emails (via the unsubscribe link) and analytics cookies (by clearing your site data)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@first-year-foundations.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. Exercising these rights is free of charge and will not lead to any detriment.

If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority (for example, your national Data Protection Authority in the EU, or the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK). We would appreciate the chance to address your concerns first, so please consider contacting us before doing so.

Children's Privacy

Our website and guides are intended for adults (parents and caregivers), not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of our website constitutes your acceptance of any changes to this policy.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Privacy Policy and any disputes relating to it are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. By using our website, you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Israel for any such disputes.
